Although we teach Physical Intervention as part of our SIA Security Training package we also offer training in the area of advanced "Physical Intervention". These methods have been carefully put together after years of working in the security and law enforcement sectors, as well as four decades of studying self defence systems in Europe, America and Japan with masters of their art.
The course covers such areas as tactical positioning, Conflict Management. Legislation in regard to self defence and control and restraint, Response Options in dealing with potential attacks, and learning to control the situation.

We will also cover a number of strategies, tactics and techniques for dealing with common attacks such as hook and straight punches, lapel grabs and punches, kicks, boxing style jabs, escaping from head locks, chokes and ground defences. We will then move on to advanced escorting drills and dealing with multiple attackers.

The course is a one day eight hour course but can be bespoke based on what the client needs.

Advanced Physical Intervention

As well as teaching SIA/Highfield (HABC) approved Physical Intervention we can also deliver advanced Physical Intervention. We have trained with the best instructors in the world in Europe. America and Japan. These teachers we have learnt from are world leaders in their field and we now teach the SPEAR Self Defence system. This is a method of Conflict Management and Physical Intervention based of nearly four decades of study. The SPEAR system is an Acronym that covers a number of principles for example...

Space: Control the space (Proxemics) around you prior to an assault
Posture: Take up a position where you can defend yourself
Evade: Get yourself out of the situation or avoid the attack
Attack: Attack the incoming limb to weaken the attackers attack
Restrain/Retreat: Escape the scene or take control of the attacker.

The SPEAR Acronym also covers the five prerequisites we should be thinking about before and during conflict

Suspect: What intelligence do you have about them?
Police: What skills, back up, equipment do you have?
Environment: Where are you
Armament: What weapons does the assailants have
Response: Based on the first four what are you going to do?

The course covers arm locks and take downs, counter throws, ground restraint, knife defence, escort drills and arrest techniques etc.
